What this site is
South Western Australia Tree Loppers connects people in the South West with tree contractors who work in the region. You describe the tree, we get a crew who covers your suburb to come and look at it and quote it. There is no charge for that, and no obligation to accept the quote.
We are upfront about the model because it matters to you. This is a referral website. We do not carry out the work ourselves, and we do not inspect or verify a contractor's licences, tickets, insurance or competence. What we can do is make sure the enquiry lands with somebody who actually works between Harvey and Augusta rather than a call centre in another state. Why local knowledge changes the quote
A tree quote is mostly a judgement about risk and access, and both are regional.
Access in the South West is rarely a flat suburban driveway. Newer estates around Vasse, Dalyellup and Australind have narrow side setbacks and sand that a heavy tipper sinks into after a wet week. Older Bunbury and Busselton blocks have mature trees behind the house with a single gate and a limestone retaining wall in the way. Rural blocks out toward Capel, Yallingup and Rosa Brook have room for an elevated work platform but thirty minutes of travel on either end of the day.
Species change the method as much as the size does. Marri is brittle at the union and drops limbs in still summer weather. Jarrah is dense enough that rigging weights need real thought. Karri gets tall fast. Coastal peppermint sits in sand with a shallow root plate and takes a lean from the afternoon sea breeze. A crew that works here reads those things off the block in the first two minutes; a crew that does not will either overprice the job to cover the unknown, or underprice it and cut corners.
Residential, rural and commercial
The work splits three ways. Suburban jobs — a dead tree, a limb over the roof, stumps left by the last owner. Rural and lifestyle blocks — firebreaks, fuel-load reduction, paddock regrowth and boundary work driven by the shire's annual notice. And builder and commercial work — clearing house pads and verges on subdivisions, which needs the approvals sorted before anyone starts a saw.
No job is too small to quote, but a single small job a long way out will price higher per tree than the same job in town, because the travel is real and we would rather say so than pad the description.

Are you the crew, or do you pass the job on?
This is a referral website. Your enquiry goes to an independent tree contractor working in your part of the South West. The site owner does not do the cutting and does not verify a contractor's licensing, insurance or certification, so ask the crew for their certificate of currency and qualifications before work starts. What should I ask a tree contractor before they start?
Ask for public liability insurance and a current certificate of currency, ask who is doing the climbing or operating the EWP and what ticket they hold, ask in writing what happens to the debris and the stump, and ask whether the price includes making good the lawn if a machine has to cross it. Get all of it on the same piece of paper as the price.
How long has the site been running?
The website has been operating since 2022. We do not publish a years-in-business figure for the contractors themselves, because crews change and we cannot verify a claim like that on anyone's behalf. Ask the crew who turns up how long they have worked in the region and what they have taken down locally.
